Cruise Planners/American Express, the nation’s largest home-based travel agent franchise network in the cruise industry, is in the midst of hosting its sold out 2010 Convention with more than 400 home-based agents in attendance showing off their “Cruisitude” while participating in training courses, executive breakout sessions and panel discussions.

“The energy coming from the agents and home office executives this year is contagious,” said Angela DeDomenico, a Cruise Planners franchise owner. “I have gained a wealth of knowledge from attending the continuous panel discussions and peer-to-peer breakout sessions. Home office is doing an amazing job in preparing franchise owners for the upcoming travel season and introducing new programs and tools we can use to tackle it with poise.”

Jump starting day one of convention, agents heard from guest speaker Rick Sasso, president of MSC Cruises, informing agents to expect a brighter business outlook for the upcoming cruise season. After a celebration at night club Exit66 in Fort Lauderdale, day two of convention is in full swing and Cruise Planners executives are decked out in “bling” t-shirts displaying their own “Cruisitude” while hosting intensive breakout sessions and “fireside chats” with agents. The land-based portion of convention comes to an end on November 13 when hundreds of franchise owners and home office executives depart for a two-day voyage aboard the Celebrity Eclipse.
