Women Entrepreneurs are Thriving

According to the women in business statistics presented by the 2017 State of Women-Owned Businesses Report by American Express, more than 11.6 million women-owned businesses generate $1.7 trillion dollars in sales. The world of women-owned businesses is diverse, with minority women owning 46% of the businesses and growing their number of firms by 467% between 1997 and 2017. The study doesn’t show how many women are passionate about the industry they are in, but based on the 2017 Franchise Business Review survey, 92% of Cruise Planners franchise owners say they enjoy operating their travel franchise.

Support for Women Business Owners

To find support and inspiration, women entrepreneurs need to look no further than Cruise Planners’ own female business co-owners, Michelle Fee CEO and Founder, and Vicky Garcia, COO. Michelle Fee started Cruise Planners as a work-from-home business in 1994, back when travel agencies still had storefronts and cell phones were still called car phones. Michelle has continued to lead Cruise Planners through a changing industry while still maintaining an active role in franchisee training and the everyday operation of the business alongside Vicky who joined the Cruise Planners team in 2004.

“People who have an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for travel make successful Cruise Planners franchisees,” said Vicky Garcia, COO and co-owner of Cruise Planners, an American Express Travel Representative. “Our franchisees are set up for success from day one with our award-winning marketing initiatives, cutting-edge training and technology, and talented Home Office Team with a proven track record of excellence.”
